How do booking systems work? How do booking systems work? What the HELL is an Admin Assassin?

Meet Our Admin Support: Hela and Zeus - Admin AssassinAs many of you know, we love helping our clients with their admin. However, we also rely on our own form of Doggy support.

Hela the Doberman

Hela joined us back in 2023, but she’s not been properly introduced! Born somewhere in Europe, Hela’s ears and tail were sadly butchered in an attempt to give her that ridiculous Doberman aesthetic! It was done so badly that her ears are now a bit deformed, and her tail is too short.

Hela ended up at a rescue centre in Wales, where she was hit and dragged under a car, degloving one of her back legs in the process. She then moved to the Dogs Trust in Loughborough, and they did everything they could to try and save her leg.

Unfortunately, Hela’s leg just wouldn’t heal, and they had no choice but to amputate it. She was only 10 months old. As Hela has MRSP (the doggy version of MRSI), she ended up with multiple infections. She was put in isolation for months while they tried to heal the infections.

After losing Digger, I really struggled with my mental health. So, one Saturday, AJ took me doggy shopping. We went to every rescue centre within an hour’s drive of our home, and the Dogs Trust was our last stop. Initially, we went to visit an XL Bully, but unfortunately she wasn’t going to be the right fit. Then, we noticed that a new dog was put on the board…

It was a wonky Doberman called Athena. We asked if we could see her, they told us to wait an hour… So, we waited. Athena (Hela) was still bald and full of stitches from her amputation. All we could do was walk in front of her while they had her on the lead. We sat on a bench, and she came up and licked my leg… We had been chosen!! We applied there and then, went through her medical issues, and then straight to North Wilshire carpets. We filled every slippery floor in our house with rugs, so that she wouldn’t slip over when she joined us.

A few weeks later, after multiple visits and form filling, our baby girl came home to join us. We renamed her Hela after the Norse God of the underworld, who’s often depicted as skeletal on one side and beautiful on the other.

Zeus the Shar Pei (mix)

We realised that Hela might need a friend, and then one day, a melon-headed fur baby popped up on AJ’s Facebook page… So, we decided to organise a visit to the Dogs Trust in Kenilworth. They gave us a call before the visit to tell us about Zeus.

Zeus had been given to the Dogs Trust when he was 18 months old, due to the owners’ change in circumstances. Now nearly 5 years old, sadly no one had shown him any interest in all that time!

As a Shar Pei mix, Zeus came with a few health issues, including some problems with his Derito ears. And he’d had a few instances where he had bitten… But we were not put off and we knew we could give him a loving home and help him work on his reactivity. After all, we are suckers for the underdog!

When we took Hela to meet Zeus, they just ran around and played, and it was amazing to see her so happy! We knew the rehoming process would take some time and it has… We’ve been back and forth to Kenilworth twice a week for three months to make sure they can settle with each other. And this has given us extra time to get to know Zeus too.

Just before Christmas, we had Zeus for a weekend sleepover. This was his first time staying in a home environment overnight for a very long time, the night went well. But unfortunately, in the morning, Hela had had enough of Zeus constantly asking to play. We had to make the heart breaking decision to stop the adoption process as Zeus was a bit too much for Hela to deal with on a daily basis. We are devastated, but we have to do what is best for Hela, Zeus and us, and unfortunately, we weren’t the perfect fit for him. We hope that someone else will see his wonderful little face, fall in love with him and give him the loving home he deserves.
