What the HELL is an Admin Assassin?

In our first blog, I wanted to share my story with you. So, what exactly is an “admin assassin” and where did I get the name from? Take a walk with me now down memory lane, so you can find out what we’re all about, including the background behind our business.

I LOVE Sir Terry’s wonderful Discworld, and his novels still play a big role in my life today. It was Kelly’s idea…

I created Admin Assassin with a CV and a highlighter pen, and then a business plan came together! Over the years, I’d worked in childcare, but I couldn’t continue working in this sector after the trauma of having a hysterectomy. Then moving to admin roles before working in sales. I learned that I hated working for others. I would just get really frustrated when something wasn’t done correctly or in the best way. In fact, I lost my last job after they accepted a resignation that I never gave! It was pretty clear that I needed to work for myself.

First, I started small and slowly, setting up a desk in my dining room. And then I discovered networking, which totally changed everything. I met a new tribe of like-minded people, who I could help with their admin, and who respected me for who I was. But I nearly lost it all…

At the time, I was trapped in a violent relationship with my ex-fiancé. After the ordeal of getting out of that relationship (and getting him out of my house), I gradually built back up. My best friend AJ, who’s now my partner in life, business and crime, supported me through this difficult period.

… and then AJ joined!

AJ joined the business in 2021, bringing along with him a great range of graphic design skills. Previously, AJ started working with animals, but then found he was allergic! So, he trained up on social media, learning about algorithms and audience engagement tricks. He now uses his creative skills to produce engaging content for our clients. He loves watching small businesses expand their reach. We work together every day in our full home office.

Of course, I have to mention my beloved Digger! He’s the third member of our team and our furry, four-legged companion, tasked with maintaining morale in the office! You’ll usually spot him on Zoom as he loves a good videocall.
